Trekking day

Did a lot of walking today as we proceed with our trekking today. We had a video introduction about Taroko in the Taroko National Park today regarding its landscape formation and history. I guess everybody had a tough day yesterday 'cos almost all dozed off during the play. The first trekking started with Shakadang Trail where we had to walk through a 2 km trail surrounding the mountain. We stopped at about 1.5km when we approached the riverside. That's when we took off our shoes and enjoyed our fun with the water. Kim, Andria, Randy, Jessica and Kylee even swam under water and I could tell they really enjoyed themselves. Jack told us that the water used to be deep last year, and due to weather wear off, the river became shallow now. One never underestimates the power of Mother nature.

Next, we proceeded to the Swallow Grotto Trail. Everyone of us had to wear a helmet in case of fallen rocks. The trail was quite short as we completed it within half an hour and luckily there was no fallen rocks in the midst of the walk.

We checked in to Tienhsiang Youth Activity Center at night and I like the room layout of the hotel. We get to have our own bed and the view from the window is simply awesome! It does not come easy to stay in a hotel that comes with natural views outside the window anywhere else, as far as I am concerned. A pity that we are only going to stay here for one night. But I will make sure that I enjoy and appreciate as much as I can.

Good night all!
